Part two is a journey in between galaxies interstellar void and part three is the colonization and failure of human life on another planet. Part one is a journey outside our solar system. These three tracks are the definitive songs of the album. Thats why - if you listen closely - there are repeated musical ideas throughout. The three Exoplanet tracks represent the focal point of the album's concept, musically the songs are tied together somehow to show that they are a part of a time line. Stylistically standing out from it's peers with the added mix of electronica and both synth and guitar-based ambience, the dynamics of Exoplanet interestingly allow the band to eschew the sea of deathcoreprogressive bands. Combining elements of deathcore, progressive-death, experimental production, and dare I use the cliche, strong use of melody, The Contortionist is a heady mix of abrasiveness and technical metal, which is executed with precision.
